Olympic Gold Medal Fever Hits the Ice at Juno Cup
Additional Names Announced to Participate in
Celebrity Fundraising Hockey Game

 

The competition heats up for the coveted 2006 Juno Cup title as additional names are added to the team line-ups.

Sami Jo Small of the 2006 Team Canada’s Gold Medal Olympic team joins NHL Alumni and coach Mike McPhee as the latest additions to the “NHL All-Stars”.

Joining “The Rockers” is 2006 JUNO Awards nominee Skye Sweetnam as coach, along with Andrew Scott (Sloan), Barney Bentall, Cory Tetford (Crush), Dave Marsh (Joel Plaskett Emergency), 2006 JUNO Awards nominee Kevin Parent, Matt Minglewood, and Measha Brüeggergosman.

Led by team captain Jim Cuddy (Blue Rodeo), previously announced players for “The Rockers” include: Alan Doyle (Great Big Sea), Chris Murphy (Sloan), Classified & DJ Mic Boyd, Brent Fitz, Dave Brenner, Dean Back (Theory of a Deadman), Jarret Murphy (Matt Mays & El Torpedo), Jason Bodner and Vince Fontaine (Eagle and Hawk), Jeremy Taggart (Our Lady Peace) and Luke Doucet.
Mr. Lahey of Showcase’s Trailer Park Boys and Tyler Connolly (Theory of a Deadman) will also coach.

Previously announced players for “The NHL All-Stars” include: Brad Dalgarno, Danny Grant, Kirk Muller, Mark Napier, Mike Pelyk, Paul Coffey, Russ Courtnall and Tony Currie. Showcase’s Trailer Park Boys Ricky and Bubbles will also play for “The NHL All-Stars”, while Julian coaches the team.

Additional players to be announced next week!

Tickets for this celebrity fundraiser in support of CARAS’ Music Education Program, MusiCan, are available for a donation of $15 each (plus service charges). Fans can purchase tickets either online at www.ticketatlantic.com, by phone at the Ticket Atlantic Call Centre at (902) 451-1221, in person at the Halifax Metro Centre Ticket Atlantic Box Office located at 1800 Argyle Street or at participating Atlantic Superstore ticket outlets throughout HRM, Elmsdale and Truro.
